... And
Jesus was a sailor when he walked upon the water And
he spent a long time watching from his lonely wooden tower And
when he knew for certain only drowning men could see him He
said all men will be sailors then until the sea shall free them But
he himself was broken, long before the sky would open Forsaken,
almost human, he sank beneath your wisdom like a stone …
The girl at the grocery she's pretty and seems nice
But she looks right through me with eyes cold as ice
She never answers when I ask her name
She only says I should have a great day
But hey what could she mean by that
Perhaps I'm the fool she takes me for
Not anything more
I guess it's the season the time of the year
When people they're happy and full of good cheer
Well they'll wish you and kiss you and wish you again
And they'll tell you it's peace and good will to all men
But hey what could they mean by that
Perhaps I'm the fool they take me for
Not anything more
We stood at the altar and you held my hand
And everyone watched as the preacher he asked
Will you take him and love him for bad and for good
You looked at me then you told him you would
But hey what did you mean by that
Perhaps I'm the fool you take me for
Not anything more
Now each Christmas morning I sit in my chair
And I look up at the angels that float through the air
Some look down upon me, some come to my side
And they tell me that Jesus he said to say hi
I've never been lucky At picking up women But this life that I live Is not one that I choose She was a waitress With hair blond and curly With a pretty black dress And those Japanese shoes
Man I need to impress her 'Cause I'd like to undress her I need a song about Sonja When I'm singing tonight
She looked so pretty As she poured my coffee But she had her eye On my freind at the bar And I watched her watch him And I watched her thinking I wish her eye was on me
Man I need to impress her 'Cause I'd like to undress her I need a song about Sonja When I'm singing tonight
And if I could sing her A tender love ballad I'd hope that the audience might sing along But I can't find the right way To tell her my feelings And still make the words rhyme with Sonja
No I've never been lucky At picking up women But this life that I live Is not one that I choose She was a waitress Now she's gone forever And I'm stuck with this song That I never will use
Man you need to impress her If you want to undress her Sing a song about Sonja When you're singing tonight Sing a song about Sonja When you're singing tonight
Hid between my knees
Take my hand and squeeze
Say I’m alright
Whisper in my ear
Happy you are here
Everything seems clear
We’re alright
We’re alright
Tell me not to trip or to lose sight
You are walking in my dotted line
Take my hand and help me not to shake
Say I’m alright
I’m alright
Say I’m alright
I’m alright
It’s okay to feel
Everything is real
Nothing left to steal
Cause we’re alright
We’re alright
Tell me not to trip or to lose sight
You are walking in my dotted line
Take my hand and help me not to shake
Say I’m alright
I’m alright
Say I’m alright
I’m alright
Say I’m alright
I’m alright
interlocutori pensa immediatamente all'omonimo film di Neil Jordan
“The Dream of the Blue Turtles”, circa 10 anni prima del
compagnia, cantava “Moon over Bourbon Street”, brano che
richiama “Intervista col vampiro”, il libro appunto.
Sebbene
“Moon over Bourbon Street” un gran bel pezzo. Atmosfere e
sassofono.
There's
a moon over bourbon street tonight I see faces as they pass
beneath the pale lamplight I've no choice but to follow that call
The bright lights the people and the moon and all I pray
everyday to be strong For I know what I do must be wrong Oh
you'll never see my shade or hear the sound of my feet While
there's a moon over bourbon street
It
was many years ago that I became what I am I was trapped in this
life like an innocent lamb Now I can never show my face at noon
And you'll only see me walking by the light of the moon The
brim of my hat hides the eye of a beast I've the face of a sinner
but the hands of a priest Oh you'll never see my shade or hear
the sound of my feet While there's a moon over bourbon street
She
walks everyday through the streets of New Orleans She's innocent
and young from a family of means I have stood many times outside
her window at night To struggle with my instinct in the pale
moonlight How could I be this way when I pray to god above I
must love what I destroy and destroy the thing I love Oh you'll
never see my shade or hear the sound of my feet While there's a
moon over bourbon street
Maybe this Christmas
Will mean something more
Maybe this year love will appear
Deeper than ever before
And maybe forgiveness will ask us to call
Someone we love, someone we've lost
For reasons we can't quite recall
Uh, maybe this Christmas
Maybe there'll be an open door, uh
Maybe the star that shined before
Will shine once more
Tururururu, turururu
Turururu, turururu
Maybe there'll be an open door
Maybe this time that shined before
Will shine once more
And maybe this Christmas
Will find us at last
In heaven, at peace
Prayed for at least
For the love we've been
Shown in the past
Maybe this Christmas
Maybe this Christmas
Summertime
And the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin'
And the cotton is high
Oh, your daddy's rich
And your mamma's good lookin'
So hush, little baby,
Don't you cry
One of these mornings
You're going to rise up singing
Then you'll spread your wings
And you'll take the sky
But until that morning
There's a'nothing can harm you
With your daddy and mammy
standing by.
When someone very dear
Calls you with the words
Everything's all clear
That's what you want to hear
But you know it might be
Different a new year
That's why, that's why
We hang the lights so high
Joy, joy, joy, joy
You loved it as a kid
And now you need it
More than you ever did
It's because of the dark
We see the beauty in the spark
That's why, that's why
The carols make you cry
Joy, joy, joy, joy
Joy, joy, joy, joy
Dance around the tree, yes I see
The holy on the globe, life beautiful
The candles and the gloom, light the room
The story of the globe, yes, I am the stand
So light the winds of fire
And watch as the flames grow higher
We'll gather up our feels
And face down all the coming years
All that they've destroyed
And in their face we throw our
Joy, joy, joy, joy
Joy, joy, joy, joy
It's why we hang up so high
And gaze at the globe
Silver birches in the snow
Because of the dark
We see the beauty in the spark
We must be alright
If we could make up Christmas night
I dreamed what what you were
offering Imagine lying next to me You should, and your
reputation talks I will write our story in my mind Write about
our dreams and triumphs This might be my innocence lost I can
taste the ocean on your skin That is where it all began I
dreamed that we were elephants Water, sun and clouds of dust And
woke up thinking we were free
I can taste the ocean on your skin That
is where it all began We all go back to where we belong We all
go back to where we belong This really what you want This
really what you want
I can taste the ocean on your skin That
is where it all began We all go back to where we belong We all
go back to where we belong This really what you want This
really what you want
Ogni
mai
Portami via, Portami via da qui, Portami via, Non
voglio perdermi
Ci siam sorrisi e in un lampo Ci siamo
trovati con trent'anni in più, Ma son trent'anni
rubati All'invidia del tempo e sei sempre tu.
Ogni
canzone d'amore Dall'alba del mondo era scritta perda te, Ma
trovatori e poeti cantavano un'altra Chissà poi perché,
Ma
Portami via, Se sbaglio insegnami, Portami
via, Se cado tienimi,
Portami
via, Se ho freddo coprimi, Portami via, Se torno
stringimi,
Stringimi forte stasera, Ti sei primavera, Io
sono l'inverno, Stringimi stringimi ora, Perché ho seri
dubbi Di essere eterno
Stringimi stringimi ora Perché
ho seri dubbi Di essere eterno
Regrets collect like old friends
Here to relive your darkest moments
I can see no way, I can see no way
And all of the ghouls come out to play
And every demon wants his pound of flesh
But I like to keep some things to myself
I like to keep my issues drawn
It's always darkest before the dawn
And I've been a fool and I've been blind
I can never leave the past behind
I can see no way, I can see no way
I'm always dragging that horse around
All of his questions, such a mournful sound
Tonight I'm gonna bury that horse in the ground
So I like to keep my issues drawn
But it's always darkest before the dawn
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa
And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh whoa
And I am done with my graceless heart
So tonight I'm gonna cut it out and then restart
'Cause I like to keep my issues drawn
It's always darkest before the dawn
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa
And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh whoa
And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back
And given half the chance would I take any of it back
It's a fine romance but it's left me so undone
It's always darkest before the dawn
Oh whoa, oh whoa...
And I'm damned if I do and I'm damned if I don't
So here's to drinks in the dark at the end of my road
And I'm ready to suffer and I'm ready to hope
It's a shot in the dark aimed right at my throat
'Cause looking for heaven, found the devil in me
Looking for heaven, found the devil in me
Well what the hell I'm gonna let it happen to me, yeah
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa
And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh whoa
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa
Shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, shake it out, ooh whoa
And it's hard to dance with a devil on your back
So shake him off, oh whoa
Don't
you know They're talkin' 'bout a revolution It sounds like a
whisper Don't you know They're talkin' about a revolution...
(Tracy
Chapman)
(Mao Tze Tung)
La
rivoluzione restava sempre a sinistra, solo i suoi rappresentanti si
spostavano sempre a destra. (Joseph Roth)
Qualche
anno fa ho già proposto questa canzone, “Between Two Lungs”
In
l'emozionate testo.
Buon
ascolto e buona visione/lettura.
Between two lungs it was
released The breath that carried me The sigh that blew me
forward
'Cause it was trapped Trapped between two lungs,
it was Trapped between two lungs,
it was Trapped between two lungs
And my running feet could
fly Each breath screaming, "we
are all too young to die"
Between two lungs it was
released The breath that passed
from you to me It flew between us as we
slept That slipped from your
mouth into mine, it crept Between two lungs it was
released The breath that passed
from you to me It flew between us as we
slept That slipped from your
mouth into mine, it crept
'Cause it was trapped Trapped between two lungs,
it was Trapped between two lungs
Gone are the days of
begging, the days of theft No more gasping for a
breath The air has filled me head
to toe And I can see the ground
far below I have this breath and I
hold it tight And I keep it in my chest
with all my might I pray to God this breath
will last As it pushes past my lips,
as I Gasp, gasp Ah ah ah ah
